ABOUT BERNESE BABIES
An Honest Dog Breeder
At Bernese Babies, nestled in the south west of the Salt Lake Valley, we are a close-knit, family-operated breeder with a profound admiration for the Bernese Mountain Dog breed. These magnificent dogs are not just pets; they are a source of immeasurable joy and companionship. From the moment of birth, each puppy is enveloped in love and care, ensuring they are nurtured in a pristine, secure setting until they find their new forever homes.
Our breeding girls, the devoted mothers of these pups, receive royal treatment as they raise their young
with all the tenderness and affection they deserve.
BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG HISTORY
The Bernese Mountain Dog is a breed of large dog that originates from the Swiss Alps. It is believed that the breed descends from Roman Molosser dogs, which were brought to Switzerland by Roman invaders. The Bernese Mountain Dog was originally used as a farm dog, where it was responsible for driving cattle, guarding the farm, and pulling carts.
In the 19th century, the Bernese Mountain Dog began to gain popularity as a show dog and a companion animal. The breed was officially recognized by the Swiss Kennel Club in 1907 and by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1937. Today, the Bernese Mountain Dog is still used as a working dog on farms, but it is also popular as a pet and show dog.
